Waterfalls and Goldmines TrailShort loop 2 1/4 mile 1 1/2 hours Max gradient: 18%
Long loop 3 1/2 mile 2 1/2 hours Max gradient: 18%
Starting from the Tyddyn Gwladys Car Park, the stunning waterfalls along this route make the journey worthwhile. Both trails follow a track north along the river in a steep valley, surrounded by a gracious forest.
Passing the relics of the gold mining works, and the Gwynfynnydd mine, which closed in 1999, you will cross the river to return - either at Aerial Bridge for the short loop, or Bailey Bridge if you opt for the longer.
There are resting places along the way, making it another favourite for all, and with no steps or stiles, it is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. |
