Volcano Trail7 miles 5 hours 300m climb
Beginning the trail at the Cae'n y Coed Car Park, the Volcano Trail offer you the chance to discover Coed y Brenin's amazing geological history.
A mixture of forest tracks, minor roads and various paths along this circular walk give you time to take in the fantastic geological features of Coed y Brenin.
The walk offers spectacular views of the extinct volcano, Rhobell Fawr from the very highest point in the park, Moel Hafod Owen, at 435m.
The violent volcanic history of the park is explained on five information panels en route, with the trail providing a real challenge and experience of walkers. Make you sure you go well prepared for a long day in the woods, on some of the parks toughest terrain. |
