Penrhos Mountain Trail3 miles 2 hours 200m climb
Starting from the Ty'n y Groes Car Park, this trail offers a great experience of mountain walking, with breath taking views of Cader Idris, y Garn an Rhobell Fawr once you complete the strenuous march to the top.
You cover part of the King's Guards Trail while on this walk, taking in the huge pillar that are Coed y Brenin's Douglas firs, some of the tallest trees in the park.
After crossing a road, you follow the route up the hillside through a colourful mixed woodland to the heather and gorse-clad summit of Mynydd Penrhos.
The paths to the top of the mountains are made of an uneven surface and are steep - but well worth it. |
